Julia Zalusky is an oboist and English horn player active in orchestral, chamber, and solo performance. She regularly performs with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Indiana, and Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, and has also appeared with the Philharmonia, Chamber Orchestra, and Chamber Winds at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM).
Her festival credits include the Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival, Akropolis Chamber Music Institute, and Mostly Modern Festival, where she was awarded scholarships for her artistry. She has also been selected to perform at the International Double Reed Society Conference in both 2024 and 2025. As a soloist, Zalusky has appeared with the Cincinnati Brass Band, Bloomington Normal Youth Symphony, and Lee University Symphony.
Zalusky received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree and Master of Music degree from CCM, studying with Titus Underwood and Dwight Parry, while serving as a graduate assistant in music theory, private instructor, and oboe/English horn repair technician. She pursued additional studies with Tim Daniels and Chris Philpotts. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Lee University where she studied with Robert Burks of the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra.
